Why our stoves
Our manufacturers have you, the customer in mind.Consider Heat-N-Glo, Heatilator, Lennox, Superior, Majestic, etc. All of these companies are very large fireplace companies, only you are not the customer. You are a spin-off. These companies want and depend upon large tract builders who care less about quality then they do about cost and appearance. You can’t have quality and cheap pricing in the same product. Think Big Box. Notice, they never use the word quality. It is always lower prices. Travis gas stoves are a higher quality than most other companies. Travis units are the industry leader in style and innovation, winning more Industry Vesta awards than any other manufacture. Visually, their units are balanced and pleasing to the eye in color, flame appearance, and lines.
Only Travis tests every component that could fail at the door when they receive the shipment, before the part is installed. This minimizes product failure after your purchase. Components include thermocouples, thermopiles, snap switches, blowers, valves, control boards, etc. Only Travis tests every assembled unit before it goes out the door. Others only test the required 1 in a 100. units. Only Travis treats the glass with silicone on both sides (you may forget which side is which) to prevent etching of the glass as it ages. Travis thermocouples last an average of 7 years. Others last 3 to 4 years. (It is our guess that the other companies, to insure proper ignition, use a pilot that is too hot and prematurely burns off the tip on the thermocouple.) Travis units out heat the competition (customer feedback). Travis wood stoves are a higher quality than most other companies. All Travis stoves are non-catalytic, ensuring less maintenance, greater extended efficiency, cleaner glass, and more heat radiated from the stove. Only Travis stoves are uni-body construction. The side, front, and side is one piece of metal. Allows rounded corners and no visible welds on the front of the stove. Firebrick baffles allow for easy cleaning. All firebricks are of durable refractory cement, not pumice. Pumice is an insulator and has a very short life span. Refractory will withstand higher temperatures and allows greater transfer of heat into the room. All glass is ceramic. Ceramic glass emits and transfers more heat (infrared) than cast iron or steel. All large stoves can hold 24 logs. All stoves have a substantial solid cast brass latch, not bent metal. Travis units do not bang from oil-canning. Why? Because they use a heavier gauge of metal. Travis pellet stoves are a higher quality than most other companies. Proven track record second to no one. No nuts and bolts inside the firebox, yet all components easily removable. Only Travis tests every component that could fail at the door when they receive the shipment. Minimizes product failure after your purchase. Components include snap switches, blowers, control boards, motors, wire harnesses etc. Travis units out heat the competition (customer feedback). |
